    Enjoy an evening of sheer entertainment with the band that combines high energy rock n’ roll with a stage show of pure talent and comedy. Pack your lawn chair and picnic basket and head to Lion’s Park on Tuesday, July 14th! The concert raindate is July 21st. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the USR Recreation Dept. Open to USR residents only.

Join us at the Library on Wed., June 3rd at 7pm, as Merrie Robin, RPP, CEIM, explains that by using the principles of Feng Shui, Space Clearing and Organizing, you can create a living space that is comfortable, organized, functional and beautiful without spending a lot of money.   3. USR Library Summer Reading Kick-off Party with Jester Jim!

    Kick-off the 2015 Summer Reading Program with a party for the entire family! Young and old will be glued to comedian and juggler, Jester Jim’s every move as he makes you laugh and amazes you with his ‘superhero’ juggling moves! Registration is required and begins June 1st.   4. Become a Reading Superhero this Summer!

    The USR Library summer reading program, “Every Hero has a Story,” for students in grades 2–5, is designed to encourage the joy of reading through activities, games, incentives and a summer full of special programs including costume creation, group games, art projects, science and engineering experiments, and more. Younger siblings ages 3 yrs.–1st. grade can join in the fun too, with the “Read to Me” portion of the program. “Unmask” is a reading club with programs just for teens in grades 6 and up. Kick off the summer program on Thursday, June 18th at 6 pm with Comedian & Juggler “Jester Jim”.

  5. COMMUNITY MEMORIAL DAY WORSHIP
    MONDAY, MAY 25 – 9:00 AM
    150TH ANNIVERSARY – End of American Civil War
    70TH ANNIVERSARY – End of World War II
    Join in this community remembrance as a grateful nation for those who defended our nation in times of war and peace. We will share our appreciation with prayer and hymns of thanksgiving and consolation. It is our tradition to acknowledge all deceased members of the Armed Services, Coast Guard, war time Merchant Marine, WAAC, WAVES, MCWR, SPARS, and WASP. All veterans are encouraged to wear your ribbon bars, medals, and uniform (or veteran’s organization cover/insignia).

    Spring Craft Show and Fair. Saturday, April 25 10am to 4pm
    Old Stone Church Education Building, 500 E. Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ. The Old Stone Church Annual Spring Craft Fair is taking place this Saturday, April 25. Handmade craft vendors include quilts, American Girl costumes, jewelry, women’s accessories, furniture, wood carving, and more. Other attractions include, Grandpa’s Attic, Baked Goods, homemade foods, USMC Wounded Warriors Fund, and more. Entrance is Free!

  7. SUNDAY, JUNE 14TH, FROM 11AM-5PM: Bergen Highlands United Methodist Church at 318 W. Saddle River Rd., will host its 58TH ANNUAL STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL
    To commemorate a time when Bergen County was known as the Strawberry Capital of the World, we will be serving our wonderful strawberry shortcake made with hand-picked local New Jersey strawberries, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Enjoy games, crafts, entertainment, shopping at the artisans’ and merchants’ booths on the front lawn, and bidding on the silent auction items inside the building.
    The event will take place, rain or shine. Tickets are available at the door or pre-purchased for a discount. Proceeds of the festival will continue to aid us in our commitment to various missions including youth, outreach to Paterson, and our local community.

  8. SATURDAY, MAY 23th, 7PM Bergen Highlands United Methodist church at 318 W. Saddle River Rd., will be hosting THE WATOTO CHILDREN’S CHOIR production, “OH, WHAT LOVE”. Be a part of this extraordinary experience and welcome these African children as they tour the U.S. Almost 20 local Ugandan songwriters have contributed to crafting songs that share the stories of the orphan child. The Watoto Children’s Choir has traveled the world with their dynamic “Concerts of Hope”, inspiring audiences as they sing, dance and celebrate their inspiring story of the strength of hope and love through music. Ugandan hand crafted items will also be available.Performances are free and open to the public.
